Georgian-born writer Nino Haratischwili is one of the most important literary voices in Germany. Her new novel 'Das mangelnde Licht' is about a country on the edge of Europe, a country on the edge of Russia and a war on more than 800 rapturous pages. The documentary delves into the Georgia of the 1990s with archive material, interviews and small play scenes.
