PIRATES
Piracy is one of the oldest trades in the world - and it looks like the skull and crossbones business will remain a challenge for civilian shipping in the 21st century. The documentary shows the hot spots of piracy around the world. We shoot on board the frigate Augsburg, when the warship of the German Navy not only provides emergency aid at the Horn of Africa and the Somali coast, but actively takes action against the pirates - we show the very normal everyday life of German marines, who are constantly between hoping and fearing, far away from their families, taking decisive action against the brutal privateers.
