One route - one continent: The longest bus route in the world runs from Rio de Janeiro to Lima - without changing buses. It is a journey of superlatives: 6300 kilometers, 100 hours. A journey full of contrasts: Starting from the world metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, it goes through a savannah landscape, the largest wetland on earth, the Amazon jungle, up the Andes to the Pacific coast of Peru. "Transoceánica" is a road movie that lets us look deep into the soul of South America. We experience the beauty of its nature and the pride of its people, but we also see the dark sides: Pollution, poverty and crime.
