Using rare color film footage, previously unpublished archive material, and photos, the film paints a multi-layered portrait of the unconventional primatologist. Former colleagues, scientists, and biographers shed light not only on the groundbreaking impact of Fossey's work on primate research and conservation, but also on the darker sides of her personality and her uncompromising commitment.
